JUNKO

// JUNKO + MESA OF THE LOST WOMEN (Japan + France)

The banshee possessed lung-force that fronts Japanoise monoliths Hijokaidan brings her vocal terror to French free-noise-jazz duo Mesa of The Lost Women (Yves Botz (Dustbreeders)) on noise guitar and Christophe Sorro on free drumming)…… cannot wait to greet these guys to the Steel City! How could we say no in their hour of need?!?

// SILVER DICK (Manchester)

Support from Silver Dick….  “Languid, sanguine honing and droning pseudo-freeish golden trio, tricky and unintelligible route-diving-divining, guitar duet duel incongruities, encircling percussion and oft-wordless warbling, thwarted jazz leanings, melodic perverted “lines”, chiseling a kinda precision, tentative sub-general dumping and pummelling, some sweet caress and fumble SILVER DICK”. The slithering brainchild of Joincey (Saboteuse, Inca Eyeball, Stuckometer) Kate Armitage and Martin Greenwood.

// SMUT (Leeds)

Solo droning stoning noise whirlpools…. Smut is the solo project of musician and artist Lucy Johnson. Her output varies from minimal lo-fi piano to catastrophic noise. When describing her performance she quotes Newcastle’s Tusk festival who said her work amounted to “the caustic shards and the kind of drones that can raze your mental city to the ground.”
